We felt so shocked to see all bones of victims killed during khmer rough. They are all innocent. Wish Cambodian not meet this situation in the future.

glad to have gone. truly shows the horror that happened to so many of cambodias residents. enjoyed the narration but when we came to the killing tree segment we ended our tour there as the emotions crept in.

It not an easy experience and hits on all senses but it is a must see and experience. It shows the hate-rid of a man, a monster.
How he could do what he did to other humans is beyond belief. Men, women, children, monks---no one was given any respect to one and all. He was never taken to court and lived out his life in the mountains of Cambodia.
He was a monster

Visiting any memorial of man’s inhumanity towards his fellow man is emotionally exhausting…And the Choeung Ek Genocidal Center is no exception. Here, over 17,000 people are believed to be buried in mass, shallow graves. Clothes, bones, teeth and shoes continue to rise to the surface each season as the earth gives up more evidence of the autrocities. The central temple, with its skulls and human remains, is exceptionally moving. While not a pleasant experience, this is one stop that should not be missed.

Important to see and remember what was carried out here by the Khmere Rouge.
We did wonder if some of it was a bit staged, difficult to believe that clothing part burried in the surrounding ground wouldn't have been destroyed by the weather over the past 30 years.

A must see after the S21 prison. The fields are calm and let you have time for reflection. There were no audioguides available at the moment, so hire a guide at the site for the best experience. Unfortunately, there is poor maintenance of posters and sidewalks. After googling, we found that the private company JC Royal Company was granted the rights to lease the ground and get the income from the museum in 2005. Still, it might be more important than ever to visit the fields. Just look at how the Chinese building areas are popping up all around. The history of the Killing fields should never be forgotten.

It was chilling to step on the grounds of the killing fields. Not all of the mass graves have been completely dug up yet, so it makes you wonder if you’re stepping on one without knowing.

Audio guide is $3 extra. Worth the money. The ticket is also worth the money if you walk through without the audio guide and just read the signs.

The audio guide is currently unavailable so we took a tour with an onsite guide and 3 other people. The guide really wasn't up to scratch, he mainly just told us the stuff that was written on the info boards and was hard to understand. We had to walk around ourselves again afterwards as we felt we had been rushed through and learned nothing. We listened in on some other groups and there were some very good guides so it really seems to be luck of the draw.

There is no favourite part of this adventure..
It is something every human being should experience.
This tragedy and abomination should be never allowed to happen again.
If you are coming to cambodia it is a must to experience. You will come away with sadness in your heart but with a determination to be a better person.
