There is not too much to see. Unfortunately, it was closed and we didn't not find anyone in the village who would be able to let us in. However, I don't think we missed much since inside of the tower is not much to see....More

Ideal visiting time is after the lunch but before the sunset. Castle is fine, but more interesting are old oil fields which are around.

I would say that there is really nice place, but I wouldn't ;-) There is a castle on top of small hill. Close to the castle there are detached houses with people. There is no any infrastructure. No entrance, no information desk.. there is not...More

This 12th century building is not a castle but a tower. Perched high up on a hill it was built to defend the castle during the Shirvanshahs’ reign. The views are of the oil fields used in the filming of the Bond film 'The World...More

Worth stopping at if visiting the oil fields. Offers a great view of the area. Monument is too dangerous to climb though now.

This castle is part of the experience getting there. ‘There’ being about 30 minutes from downtown Baku. You will see the REAL Azerbaijan going to and from. It’s located in the backblocks. The dystopian oil fields, wastelands and grinding poverty are there for all to...More

This is a beautifully preserved old fortress that now overlooks the oil fields. The lady who looks after the place will unlock the gate and you are welcome to climb the treacherous steps to what seems to have been the living room. No safety features...More

This fortress sits atop a hill and it quite huge once your next to it. Not much to see but worth the drive to see. Make sure to see the lady in the red house to get inside. 2 manat per person.
