    Great views from the top
Great views from the top of the tower. As you climb the tower there was information on most levels so the climb up was staggered. Information was ok although not particularly interesting. Worth visiting for views from the top and of course photos of it from the ground.

Intriguing start to a wander around the fascinating old town of Baku
The tower itself is intriguing and well worth a visit, for the views from the top and for the introduction to Baku’s complex history as you climb through the different levels. But it’s also the perfect way to start a wander around the old town, best done slowly because there are photo opportunities at every turn. Some of these involve the contrast between old and new, especially with the modern Flame Towers in the background. So start at Maiden’s Tower and roam for several hours - fascinating.

    Best viewed from below
Best viewed from below! The top is shielded by a plexiglass wall that doesn't afford the best viewing opportunities. The tower is iconic in Baku's history and is worth a walk around if you are a history buff. Most walking tours stop by here, to chat about how no one is certain how this tower was named!

As a symbol of Baku, omnipresent on currency and logo's, the Maiden Tower is a "must" to visit. It sits near the waterfront side of Old Town and serves as a point of reference when you get lost on the narrow streets.
It is more interesting from the outside ; the difficult climb to the top is not justified : the top platform is shielded by a scratched plexi plastic screen, which makes good photography of the surrounding view near impossible.
Better to spend more time walking around, it is also more picturesque from a distance.

Not just the tower itself. Go for the entire area. A walled section of ancient Baku filled with shops and restaurants. A lovely place to spend hours.

Apart from the view at the top (which you can get from other parts of the city to be honest), I wasn't blown away.
There are some small exhibits on the three floors, but that's about it.
If you struggle with stairs, this isn't for you.
15 Manat compared to museums which are 5.

Mmmm.... Maiden Tower is in all the guide books as one of Baku's must do's, but I was somewhat non-plussed. Sure, the views are good, but there are multiple opportunities for much better views across the city, including at the nearby restaurant/teahouse, Cay Bagi 145. It's a slog up 8 floors of windy, precarious steps, which require you to stoop so not to hit your head, & the downward traffic uses the same skinny stairway. When you reach the top, a perspex shield lines the tower, so your photos are taken through it. The ticket booth is adjacent - 4AZN for locals, 15 AZN for foreigners.

The stairs you need to climb to the top, history and interesting facts displayed on every floor on the way to the top - very authentic and interesting experience.

During my recent visit to Baku, Azerbaijan, I had the opportunity to explore Maiden Tower Downtown Baku, located in the historic Old City. While the location was advantageous, I found my overall experience to be somewhat lackluster.

Firstly, the staff at Maiden Tower Downtown Baku were polite but lacked the warmth and friendliness that I had expected. Their interactions felt somewhat transactional, and I didn't feel a genuine sense of hospitality. It would have been nice to receive a more welcoming and personalized experience.

The rooms at the hotel were adequate, but they lacked the charm and character that one would hope for in a historic area like the Old City. The furnishings were basic, and the décor was uninspiring. Additionally, I encountered some maintenance issues, such as malfunctioning air conditioning and plumbing problems. These issues disrupted my comfort and should have been addressed promptly.

Another aspect that left room for improvement was the breakfast offered at the hotel. While there was a variety of items available, the quality and presentation were mediocre. The selection lacked creativity and freshness, and the dining area felt cramped and congested. It would have been beneficial if the hotel could enhance the breakfast experience by focusing on improving the quality of the offerings and creating a more inviting atmosphere.

On a positive note, the location of Maiden Tower Downtown Baku was a highlight. Being situated in the historic Old City allowed for easy exploration of the nearby attractions, shops, and restaurants. The convenience of being within walking distance of key landmarks added value to my stay.

In terms of value for money, Maiden Tower Downtown Baku fell somewhat short. Given the average quality of the rooms, lackluster service, and underwhelming breakfast experience, the hotel's pricing felt somewhat inflated.

In summary, Maiden Tower Downtown Baku in Baku, Azerbaijan, offers a mediocre experience overall. While the hotel's location in the Old City is advantageous, the lack of personalized service, maintenance issues, and uninspiring rooms detract from the overall appeal. With improvements in service quality, maintenance, and breakfast offerings, the hotel has the potential to provide a more satisfying experience for guests.
