Visited the Old City in July . It was terribly hot but the trip was worth it ! The place is buzzing with restaurants and things to see! It is safe even in the middle of the night !

Old city Baku is a pretty big area encircled with massive defensive walls. It is very well preserved and I saw many restorations going on at the moment. It stretches from the sea level up, so to avoid climbing I suggest entering it somewhere around...More

I loved walking around the old part of the town. I didnt realize all the layers of history that Baku had. I always had thought of it as more of an oil boom town from the 19th century. Lots of cool restaurants here

I think this a good historical place but it could be more better if they invest a little there. I saw the place for 30 minutes and shouldn't come again for any reason.

Really a great place for a nice weekend walk with family and friends. Breakfast restaurants are amazing (must try the eggs with tomatoes) and will enchant you with fresh bread and a nice Turkish coffee. Enjoy.
