The Botanical Garden in Yerevan is a beautiful spot close to the city center. It is chiefly used for recreational purposes, but there is a lot of information to gather on regional vegetation of the Southern Caucasus. For visitors who are interested in ecosystems it...More

Based on what you see it is clear that once upon a time it really has been a Botanical Garden - nowadays it's rather an unkempt and untidy place for a walk and find some shade in the sunny and usually hot city. Area it...More

It’s a large botanical garden in Yerevan as we discovered and close to the cemetery which is neat to explore too. A member of the BGCI, the gardens are a bit rustic to say the least as I’m not sure how many people actually work...More

Frustration comes from entrance when you here bad quality music from local restaurant. They don't even have a normal map. As for garden it's very average.

The botanical garden is a home of many, also, endangered, plants and a former scientific center. Although a bit abandoned, it still holds a nice collection of different flowers and trees. The territory is huge, there is a main walkway and a picnic area. Local...More

Unfortunately, the neglect is apparent throughout the gardens. The only reason the rating is above the basement level is due to the courteous and informative staff. Many of them have PhDs and extensive educational experience, but unfortunately suffer from post Soviet neglect.
