The Jade Emperor Pagoda has the feel of taking ones time. It would be the place to calm ones self. History abounds. Respect what you see. In a busy city you don’t expect to find a place as tranquil as this.

The pictures do not do this place justice and this is not a compliment. Set a long way from anything it is a huge disappointment. Dirty, unkempt and long neglected. For many websites to consider this a 'must see' or 'top ten site' is a...More

At first sight, it was a quite small temple, but with our guide expalining, it became a must visit place in ho zhi min city. And many famous people came here before.

This is a smallish stuffy temple that is not much in comparison to temples elsewhere in Viet Nam and Asia.

This has to be one of the worst pagodas I have seen in Vietnam. Cant believe its rated so highly. The outside is completely delapidated. The inside has an interesting statue or two but really dont bother if you are anyway stuck for time

Thanks to Nguyen, we knew more about this temple and the various meanings of the figures while visiting. This was a tiny oasis of peace in a noisy and crowded city.

A bustling, interesting place. Very much part of the local community and a real insight into local traditions.

When I came in, the interior was flooded with light. The locals praying, smell of burning fortune sticks and sacred atmosphere. The building had beautiful decorations, and even though there were some old industrial details (Blade Runner style cooling fans) I enjoyed it a lot....More

Dropped by the Emperor Jade Temple during our short trip to HCMC last month. There was a small concrete pond with tortoise and other fishes in it. The front compound has some shady trees. The temple itself is quite and has a pious feeling, and...More

I wore shorts and had no problems. Although it was a tad chilly at the end of December.
