Although the lake is beautiful during the day time, it really comes alive at night and especially on the weekend when they close the road to cars....so fascinating to watch the area come alive.

I really like Hanoi as a city but it will need a great effort from city authorities to clear up the plastic, garbage and general detritus that dominates in this central city lake...

Great way to spend the afternoon either by the cafes or ice cream stops along the way or just to stroll along the path around the lake. There are loads of people around doing the same thing and even though it is very hot. The...More

From friday afternoon till sunday evening, all roads around the lake are closed off for traffic. It looks like half of Hanoi goes out for a stroll. We loved it!

Recommend to walk around the lake in the afternoon, after 3pm, to enjoy the scenery and watch local people doing taichi. Best to visit the lake at the weekend, from Friday evening to midnight on Sunday, when cars and motorbikes are not allowed to drive...More

Nice to walk around the lake day time, although it is a little bit warm. Evening time a lot of people around walking, eating, playing....a real relaxing lake to walk and " flane".....Recommanded especially evening time.

The lake & surrounding gardens were much better than I expected. It provides some welcome respite from the busy streets around it. At night it really comes to life when it's all lit up.

This lake has a pretty cool story and is worth seeing. Enjoyed going to the temple in the middle and seeing the turtle.

the locals get up pretty early to do their exercises. If you go there around 4 a.m/5am. you will already see people running and old ladies exercising
