True Vietnamese Spa Experience!

I had the best massage, Let me tell you about it. It was like a combinations of a Turkish Hamman Bath House, and a Japonese hot spring. You enter and change your shoes for their plastic flips. Then you pay for the plan you want our was $300,000 Dong. ( approx $13 dollars) then you go to locker room, change and lock up your valuables. Then you shower, then you get into a big wooden barrel they fill with herbal hot water and soak for 10 minutes. Then they give you a lemongrass tea, after you drink it down, you get in a hot bathtub jacuzzi filled with herbal water, then you sit up on the edge and an attendant scrubs your whole body with a herbal mint luffa. Like in a Turkish Bath house.... After another dip in the jacuzzi you go into the steam room for 5 minutes and put your feet in a bucket of wood chips herbal remedy. Then you move to the dry sauna for 5 minutes. After that you move into a freezer room for 3 minutes. Then you rinse in the shower dry off and they give you another pair of dry shorts. Then they give you a cold clorofila herbal tea. Then you move to a massage room where the masseuse works you over for an hour. Then she scrubs you with hot herbal packs and covers you with very hot towels and walks all over your back, legs, and buttocks. As I left the massage room I was completely spent. But, wait it’s not over yet. They take you to a dining room and serve you ginger tea, fruit, and porridge (which taste delicious) all the food is included for free. Finally after 2 hours you go back to where you came in to get your shoes back. The place is huge like a maze and they have a lot of people going through at the same time. And of course women and men are in separate sections so I never saw my wife until the end when we ate the porridge. It was unbelievable! One of, if not the best, Spa experiences!

This is a traditional Vietnamese spa. The space is a bit dated dated. Very little English speaking capabilities. Our local food tour guide suggested we go here because this is where the locals go. We did the 2 hour VIP package that included shower, sauna, jacuzzi, and massage in a private room. A great value! The massage included heat and intense rubbing and manipulating of the muscles and joints. It felt amazing! The massage table had Himalayan salt blocks on a heat lamp in the center. The room had bright lights and a lot of noise in the hallway. There was a window in the door. So I would not call it a relaxing experience in comparison to other spas that have low lights, relaxing music and aromatherapy. But the intense massage was worth it. One of the top massages I’ve ever had. I’d definitely return and send my friends.

This review is for the Huong Sen Healthcare Center/Spa on 68 An Duong in Hanoi, Vietnam. After trekking through the jungle, my friend and I had 8-9 bruises per leg and a desperate need to get some rest and relaxation in. We chose this spa on recommendation by another friend, whom we had met up for dinner. We chose the package deal. Hot showers with the complimentary shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, and facial wash were included. After washing, we soaked our sore muscles in a solo wooden tub, followed by a solo Jacuzzi tub mixed with herbs. During this time, we sipped on hot ginger lemon tea. Then we can choose to sit in both dry sauna rooms and a steam sauna room. Promptly after we were led upstairs to the massage room. My masseuse (Quan? Not sure if I spelled her name right) she is a gem!!! I want to take her back home with me so she can set one up in the states. By far, this is the BEST massage I've ever had. I would give this 10 stars just for the massage and forget the rest of the package. I am comparing this to the other massage I had in Hue, Vietnam, a Thai massage in Thailand and in the states, a hot stone massage in various states spas including Glen Ivy (Brea & Corona, CA, USA), China river cruise, korean spa scrub & massage in the states, 4 hour massage package in Cebu, Phillipines, etc. You get the picture. This massage beat them all out of the park. She really worked at my back knots, shoulder knots, and neck where I had the most tension. She even realigned my body by performing chiropractic maneuvers. Plus she avoided my bruises when massaging my lower legs and bringing back circulation with the massage. We liked the massages so much we squeezed just the massage (still package price but no time) right before leaving for our flight out of Hanoi. This location is close to the Sheraton hotel. My friend's masseuse was Thuy, whom she states did an excellent job as well. Other parts of the massage included a sliced cucumber mask, hot towels, hot stones and full body massage from head to toe. My back, neck, and shoulders thank you. I would return to Hanoi, Vietnam just for this massage. The thoroughness and technique applied to try to reduce the knots and tension is unparalleled. Much appreciation. Keep up the great work! Feel free to start franchise in So Cal! You can definitely expand here. :) P.S. this is spa is similar to the Korean spas in the states.
