This is quite a long beach, nice for walks. Many restaurants dotted around. I wouldn't say it's the best beach in Phuket but there's a bit of everything there including good food, soft sand and trees for shade.

This is a third time staying at Bangtao Bay Beach. We keep returning because of the variety it offers and the beauty it frames. The six-plus km long beach is home to everything from high end resorts to mid-range bungalows to long stretches of emptiness....More

This is a huge beach and I'm sure it is fantastic on a nice day. We visited on a very windy day when the lifeguards had the Red Flags out meaning no swimming. We will visit again in better weather.

Bang Tao Beach is one of the better beaches in Phuket. Located near the Banyan Tree Resort this is a fairly long beach, which makes it great for nice walks. Fine structure of the sand, and beach flowing gently over into the sea. Good facilities...More

Nice and quiet beach. We ended up visiting and all but one day the beach did not allow swimming (red flags) and there were lifeguards out enforcing this rule. However, it was nice to play in the sand and relax to the sounds of the...More

Very long beach with plenty of places to find a drink or have something to ea. Not too busy unlike Karon.

Great Beach...long and wide with easy access to the water. Several restaurants and bars at south end. Patrolled beach - lifeguards. Water is calm enough to swim, when Surin Beach is closed due to high waves.

Our resort, Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket, was located on this beach and we absolutely loved it. The beach was not as crowded as others we visited on Phuket like Karon & Patong. It was much quieter and family oriented. There were some beach restaurants, bars,...More

Bang Tao Beach is wonderful as an escape, away from crowds. The water is a gorgeous blue and the sands are clean and wide. There are often waves to add to the enjoyment. Behind the beach are resorts, shops and restaurants, as well as many...More

The beach itself is beautiful but has been ruined by all the plastics and rubbish. When you see this, you realise that swimming in the water is not such a great idea. Chefs at local restaurants have even told us that they routinely remove plastics...More
