About
As one of the largest Chinatowns in the world, this area in Bangkok is renowned for its incredible shopping options and tantalizing cuisine. This fast-paced district was founded over 200 years ago and went on to become the main hub for Bangkok’s large Chinese community. Venture down Yaowarat Road, bustling with activity and brimming with shops offering an array of souvenirs, jewelry, and trinkets. Then, stop at a family-run restaurant to grab an oyster omelet or dim sum. You can ride the metro to reach Chinatown. It's also within walking distance from landmarks like the Wat Traimit Temple. – Tripadvisor

    Not worth visiting
Boring place, nothing much exciting here. Good if you want to experience the traditional vibes and see the traditional kind of pastries. It's not as vibrant as what I have read or imagined. Can totally skip if the itinerary is full.

    Mostly street food
Easily accessible now via MRT to Wat Mangkon station Exit 1. Come with an empty stomach and try the many different street food here from fried dough sticks to moo ping (grilled meat on skewers) to braised duck noodles and more. There are also lots of shops selling dried goods and snacks where you can grab some souvenirs while you are there. Had problem finding public toilets though so we had to go into one of the shops, ordered some desserts just so we could use their toilet.

    Slightly Disappointing
Having had a good time in Chinatown in Singapore we were looking forward to this visit. Is it a bustling place with atmosphere? Yes. However, the lack of normal shops open in the evening and it mainly being food stalls distracts from the attractiveness. Especially, since it is difficult to sit down somewhere and there is a large seafood focus. Interesting? Yes. Must-visit? No.

    Steet food
This is a street food restaurant. There is a variety of food to choose from. I really like it because there are a lot of people and they come to eat delicious food. Recommended to come at night because in Thailand the weather is quite hot

    Mostly more of the same
There are many china town areas in city’s around the world, this one does feel a little more authentic. You will need a guide to get around all of the small streets and shops, we made our own way around got lost and missed large areas. Along the main roads it is mainly jewellers selling gold and along the side roads food will a good selection of seafood. I also saw insects including scorpions on sticks, I did not try them but it is there for the more adventurous. A very busy area which is best visited mid afternoon when you see what is happening in the cramped small streets.

    Amazing Sensory Overload
Wow. Where to start. Busy, crazy, fun, organized but chaotic, like nothing I have ever experienced before...and I LOVE it. Worth the trip. So many stalls and shops, it's easy to get lost...but just as easy to find your way back again. Don't be in a hurry...there is a lot to explore.

China Town in Bangkok, Thailand is a vibrant and bustling destination that offers an unforgettable cultural experience. The streets are lined with an array of street food vendors, markets, and traditional shops, making it a paradise for food lovers and bargain hunters. The energy and liveliness of the area are truly captivating, and the rich history adds an extra layer of charm. ❤️❤️❤️

However, the crowds can be overwhelming, especially during peak hours, and navigating through the busy streets can be a bit challenging. Additionally, the area can be quite noisy and chaotic, which might not be ideal for those seeking a more tranquil experience. 🙃

Overall, China Town is a must-visit for its unique atmosphere and incredible culinary delights in Thailand, despite the minor inconveniences.

😍🥰😘

Chinatown Bangkok is simply amazing! From the vibrant atmosphere to the delicious street food, every corner is a feast for the senses. Despite the bustling crowds, the weather adds to the charm, with a warm breeze that envelops you as you wander through the narrow alleys. The rich culture and heritage are palpable, with intricate temples and traditional shops lining the streets. And the people, oh, the people! Their warmth and hospitality make every visit unforgettable. Chinatown Bangkok is a must-see for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the heart of Thai culture.

Outstanding street food but not for the feint hearted. Plenty of variety- fresh fish, seafood of all kinds, pork, chicken, veg etc. Great vibe and excellent prices. Run shoulders with locals and farung alike. Ice cold Changs beers to wash it all down with.
We had a whole fried tamarind fish with morning glory and deep fried pork. Two large beers each. All up- less than $AU100.
Not to be missed. It gets very busy so be prepared to wait. Food all fresh cooked. Great fun.
Recommended.

A must see in Bangkok. This place was crazy!!! Market and food stalls galore & loads of weird and wonderful delights. We enjoyed our time here but had a bit of a dodgy sit in restaurant that was awful (forgot its name) would recommend visiting!

A place in Bangkok with heavy Chinese influences which you can see in the shops, signs and of course the food. There are probably dozens of streets that are packed with food stalls. Meat eaters will have no problems finding something excellent to eat. Vegetarians can still find lots of options, but vegans will have a hard time finding something. The place is pretty busy from morning until late evening, but definitely busiest at the weekends when it’s absolutely heaving with people.
