Yes, it is smelly, overcrowded, hassle to get on, but still allows avoiding terrible BKK traffic jams. I would be happy if its hours of operation were extended.

Fast, cheap, no traffic delay and not hot even in the afternoon. Can stop near an MRT (subway) station such as Kamphaeng Phet. Stepping on and off the boat is not for someone with knee or leg problems. You have to be fast and can...More

Its unreliable, they just turn up despite their being a timetable. They are super fast, you have to put your hand out for it to stop otherwise it will fly past you if you are on the boat the same thing you need to stick...More

The small canal runs through the heart of Bangkok and is an important part of the Thai capital. Taking the boat is a good experience to see the daily life of Bangkok residents.

The boat doesn’t stop very long to pick up passengers. As soon as it is close enough to where you are standing, hop in and find your seat or you’ll be SOL. If you sit at the side, pull the plastic shade, so you won’t...More

Using the waterways is an extremely cheap and atmospheric way to get around Bangkok. You need to be fairly secure of your footing getting on an off, but this pair of 70+ had no problems and felt like locals. Avoid peak hours though if you...More

probably one of the cheapest and most fun is by boat on the canal. It works just like BTS/MRT with various stops depending on which boat you take: Golden Mount Line or Nida Line. Payment will be made while the boat is going to the...More
