Started the day at Springs City Resort (under $30, all day hot spring use, multiple pools with different temps - find shuttle stop outside MRT), then went down the hill to see rest of the city. Unfortunately, we should've also went to the Beitou Museum...More

Go and see it, it's not every day you get to see a volcanic river. The area is pretty warm because of the volcano, and it's a very pretty part of Taipei.

Natural sulphur produce by the mountain, naturally heat occurrence. Would suggest to take a cab up as there is uphill climb to the hot spring hotels around the area. But you can walk back down.

If you've ever been to any other geothermal area in the world don't bother going! Small area to soak your feet for 5 minutes with 100 other people in a concrete vat.

Good area with many various options for hotsprings, be it hourly rates room or staying over at one of the hotels. Hotsprings is always a good idea during winter in taipei!
