Spent an hour to 2. It was an interesting hot spring for us to taste some sulfur eggs, enjoy the view of smoldering lake and soak our feet into the hot spring. Packed with locals. I love the eco liberate.

A sort-of-interesting place to walk around. If you're interested in bathing in the hot springs, there are lots of choices, ranging from cheap to very expensive.

Beitou offers various types of hot springs, but all very reasonably priced. Overnight stay at one of the hotels with private tubs, is a must try.

Taipei in itself is already a friendly and interesting city... but no visit of Taipei is complete without a decent soak in one of Beitou's hot springs. You will soothe your joint pains, have a great time, meet locals, strike conversations with old people, get...More

A family friend recommended that we visit the Hot Spring. We were expecting something more that communes with nature. It's just like some small canal with establishments trying to make money from tourists. We got really disappointed especially considering the long travel time from Ximending....More

For about $10USD which covers the entrance fee plus a bottled water and a small towel, we dipped naked with what looks to me a lot of frequent local users. The facility is nothing fancy but has a nice "authentic" feel to it. It is...More

The hot spring starts as a large, very hot pond that you can understandably not approach closely as it's nearly boiling. But it is surrounded by hotels and restaurants and to enjoy it you want to stay in a hotel where they have access to...More

Place is not big at all, there's a location map once you exit the MTR . A taxi ride getting there is cheap but if you venture, it's more fun. I have not been to the one in Hokkaido, so can't comment on that.
