The magical Himalayan view of Annapurna seen from the mountain-inn is a picture for Yantra meditation. The climb is a pilgrimage to the grassland from where Annapurna massive range is seen, completely alone without neighbors. We grow our organic vegetables and we cook on fire for the guests. A view of the Annapurna mountain-massif, a divine Feminine symbol from prehistory, is at the front entrance to the Mountain Inn. This tiny patch of grassland is surrounded by forest, from here we can see Daulagiri, Annapurna and Manasalu, all divine Feminine mountains with living pilgrimage traditions. Here, nature experience has a tradition of yoga practices in pilgrimage. The nature experience of the Mountain Inn carries with it an entrance to these Himalayan secrets. There is no kitchen in the rooms and breakfast is served. For lunch and dinner or anything else, an order can be given to the kitchen. As this room is a two hour forest walk down the mountain to the nearest biscuit shop, consider carefully what to bring. Daily 10-15 minute hot showers, but bring your own towel. The kitchen is of the Adam Tribe Organic Farm. The buffalo and chickens provide fertilizer for the fields and the daily cheese making. This is a restaurant and not in the village style of cooking. The chickens are not eaten, they die a natural death here. From Pokhara Lakeside the one hour bus ride follows the lake valley floor until Ghaticheena. These hourly buses will also bring you back to Lakeside from Ghaticheena. From Ghaticheena it is a one hour climb to Makanpur village, then another one hour climb to the Mountain Inn, the only inhabitant of Pakhure. For private transport we can arrange a group van to and from Kathmandu or Pokhara. The climb from Makanpur to the Mountain-Inn is through dense forest. Unless you are at home in the outdoors, we suggest you hire a guide. Anyone can do this climb, the village people use it daily, because the dense forest is above the Mountain-Inn. Guest Access The Adam Tribe is located on top of the mountain hill after last village called Makanpur. There are no skills required for getting to Adam Tribe but you need to hike for 3 hours which every one can do. So the guests will access to the Himalayan views, fresh spring water, forest-sounds and organic food at the Adam Tribe Mountain Inn. Interaction with Guests A visit to Mountain-Inn is for the unique Himalayan nature experience of vastness and beauty. Completely surrounded by forest, but just above the forest on a grassland crest, Mountain-Mother Annapurna is seen. This view is described in Mandala 5 Sukta 19 of the Rig Veda, more than 5000 years old. These associations come with the nature experience. The purpose is not to visit the owners. But they are there to help and serve you, but they are also living here for the nature experience. The Neighborhood The Adam Tribe is the life after village. The nearest neigbours are a one hour walk down the mountain to Makanpur village. The village is clean and the people are friendly. Ask anyone where the trail to Pakhure is, and the smiling reply makes you want to ask again. The mountain Inn is a 2-3 hour walk to Panchassee mountain, a nearby Vedic tradition yearly festival. This is an ancient holy place and where a Vedic hymn was composed: this could be a day-loop trek. Getting Around There are treks and trails in every direction. Just above the guest rooms is an hour trek through untouched forest; this is the charm of a visit. There are day trekking-loops that require five hours of walking on village and forest trails. If you are interested to learn what is going on in forest we suggest you to take a survivor curse with us. Other Things to Note From Pokhara Lakeside the one hour bus ride follows the lake valley floor until Ghaticheena. These hourly buses will also bring you back to Lakeside from Ghaticheena. From Ghaticheena it is a two hours climb to Makanpur village, then another one hour climb to the Mountain Inn, the only inhabitant of Pakhure. For private transport we can arrange a group Van/Jeep to and from Kathmandu or Pokhara. ***Important information about our Mountain Inn**** To make the time and energy involved with the climb seem practical, minimum two nights is best. The Annapurna photograph from the Mountain Inn is spectacular. In ancient times it was a picture for meditation. For your photograph in front of this Annapurna Yantra, ask us. The internet connection is with solar power and an internet receiver and shared with wifi. Phones and laptops can be charged on sunny days. All the water from the taps are drinkable. Drinking hot water is always available. ***Important information to know if you've never visited Nepal before*** - In Nepal each day & night, there is often no electricity for several hours. There is a load-shedding schedule which will give you a rough outline of when to expect power. We provide you with a light which can be charged and used when the power is out. Candles also bring a romantic and cosy feel to the home! It's great to use this time to slow down, listen to the nature and leave behind the modern world! - The roads around Pokhara are more like jeep trails.
