Beautiful example of their stupas and their culture. It is a definite must see in Katmandu. We had a guide which I love to be able to explain all the different important features

This is a place that you should make sure you add to your itinerary when in Kathmandu. We have been there twice. It has so much history and is spectacular. You are allowed to walk up and around part of the stupa. There are lots...More

No matter if you want to climb a mountain, do trekking or something else in Nepal, it is always a good idea to visit the stupa before, to circle it (to the left), to have some quiet and take a look inside yourself. It's a...More

The view from the top is nice. The climb from the backside is quite simple that even small kids will manage to climb.

Boudhanath Stupa exudes a sense of mesmerising calm amidst the apparent chaos of Kathmandu. The all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha at the top of the dome and the giant prayer wheels at ground level embraced me in a sense of spirituality. Knowing that this...More

Though it is a heritage site but nothing worth to visit except a colony of budhists. It is located in the citys congested area with road jams, so make sure the time to be consumed for visiting it.

This is the holy place with the landmark “Nepal Eye” and a worship area for Tibetians. We find walking around the stupa and visiting The Central temple a very spiritual experience.

In addition to viewing the massive stupa, be sure to take the time to visit the monasteries in the surrounding area. It is wonderful to hear the monks chanting and debating. And be sure to visit the giant prayer wheels

Emer... the Stupa is in a hug round square accessible from several points, which are narrow alleys, but you can reach each alley by car and walk just a few meters to the roundabout where the Stupa is.

You may have already left or visited Kathmandu, but yes, you can cover quite a bit in one hour. May be a little rushed, and there are lots of very interesting features around the Stupa that you will probably not get to see... More

I have not heard of any monastery stay for the Boudhanarth Temple but I am sure there are several forest monastery outside of Kathmandu. I hope you will find one and find your peaceful time of meditation there.
