One of the must-do attractions while traveling to Kathmandu is the cable car ride from the base of Chandragiri Hills to the top. It's a mesmerizing journey one would be able to see the Kathmandu valley and the surrounding mountains at least on one side.More

June is the rainy season,we were disappointed to not view the ice capped landscape from Chandragiri hills. The visit to the temple is wonderful. Locals offer prasad and bless you.Must visit in Nepal. The view from cable car is breathtaking.More

I don't think it would be advisable to visit on a rainy day as it's mostly an open area. Also, you will have to call and check as there are chances that the cable car services could be halted during bad weather.

Car parking is free you only pay for the cable car ride and you can't stay there over night
