On our way from Paro to the Gangtey Valley we passed the capital city Thimphu and just learnt that there was the only Golf course in Bhutan. Spontaneously, we decided to visit the Royal Thimphu Golf Course and were happy to get a tee time...More

The overall experience of the Royal Thimou golf course was great. Indeed, the caddies were very welcoming and helpful. The greens were nicely maintained, however at some places it was a bit soaked. The bunker was a bit too damp and hard to hit out....More

We felt honored to be playing a game of Golf at the prestigious Royal Thimphu Golf Club. The only golf course in Bhutan that is open to the public. This delightful nine-hole course is beautifully situated above Thimphu Tashicho Dzong built as Fortress in 17th...More

Golf course adds a magnificient view to city of Thimphu. Centrally located and very large and well maintained. Place of many golf tournaments, considered quite challenging. Nice place to take a walk or appreciate Thimhu valley.

This is a very rudimentary not-too-challenging golf course ... if you want bragging rights you should play a round here ... otherwise I'd suggest taking a pass.

The only thing worthy of spending your money here is getting a golf shirt to tell people you played golf in Bhutan. This barely qualifies as a golf course. There is no golf course grass. The greens are like shag carpet. The bunkers are unraked....More

Golf in Bhutan - we had to do it. The course was surprisingly good - rental clubs - they worked, caddies - one was 12!!! If you are a golfer you must play here.

Believe it or not, the Royal Thimphu Golf Course was very challenging. It is a par 33 (about 2800 yds) with plenty of challenges. The water hazzards are man made and are strategically placed and effective. The fairways are narrow with punishing rough and the...More
