There are boat rides to the Island every 20minutes I could say. There are private boats and public ones. I opted for the public one which seats about 30 people. The ride is just about 10minutes. There are lots of great views from the Island....More

I am travelling alone. I walked to Ngor beach (Plage de Ngor) and got to the Ngor Island pirogue area near Hotel La Madrage. A man asked me if I needed help and was kind enough to walk me to the boats. You pay 500...More

The island is just a short pirogue trip away from the village the 'ngor, I paid the equivalent of a couple of euros to get there. The island is small and can be toured in about 40 minutes - when I went there were very...More

We were expecting it to be a mini version of Goree, but it's in a lower league. It's small, covered with buildings with only a few places where you can get to the water. There are a few restaurants and small beaches, the beaches are...More

Nice, small island. You can go to the island from the Ngor beach. The beach seems chaotic, but locals are very friendly. 1000 francs for a return ticket with the "public transport" boat. Private boats for 15000, not needed. The trip takes 5 minutes only....More

Sandy, narrow paths criss-cross Ile de Ngor. At its center, the artist Mortalla is working on sculptures made from materials found at the coast - wood, plastic bottles, corks, goggles - questioning our relationship to redundancy through his resourceful creations. The sculptures are presented underneath...More

Ngor itself is a great place to stay, with its beach and market. Highly recommended the Corbusieer hotel, built for the Festival mondial arts negres in 1966, whcih has a great swimming pool and outdoor restaurant.

Make sure to check the weather for wind before going. I went out on an extremely windy day and got completely soaked by the waves on the trip over to the island from head to foot. Aside from the two small beach areas there is...More

Get away from the diesel fumes and noise for a few hours, you won't regret it. For 1,000 CAF you can get a boat across the bay (5,000 CAF will get you a private boat with no 20 minute wait, you impatient privileged person, you)...More
