A visit to this central market is well worth it. You can get really good bargains on bags, souvenirs, nuts, fresh produce and even hair. There's a little not of everything for everyone. I'd recommend about 2 hours for the trip.

typical market that has survived (until now) the worldwide invasion by supermarkets and malls ! This market is clean , safe and hasslefree . When I was there , I probably was the only foreigner among all the locals !

We were a small group on a guided tour of Maputo that gave a great overview of the city and people. The food, fruit, vegetables and fish were all extremely fresh. I would buy food here.

We visited here as part of a cruise ship, walking tour. About what you may expect from a struggling third world country market. Heat of the the day and humidity was incredible! Never sweated as much as on this tour of the city.

What a lovely aroma of fruit on entering. Everything is well displayed not only the fruit and vegetables but also the stall exhibiting local crafts. Definitely worth a visit

Not really worth going to see unless there is nothing else to do. Fruit & veg stalls are not well stocked with only basic items, nothing compared to Barcelona or London markets. Hair stands at the back, offer good rates just be carefull not to...More
