This was an interesting historical site to visit. We had an English-speaking guide who was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. However, if sites such as these want to encourage visitors they need to provide good basic facilities, such as clean, working toilets. Madagasgar is a very...More

I walked here as part of the Tourist Office's walking tour. Normally you wouldn't go in for the tour but since I was the only person on the tour I asked to drop in. You have to pay an entrance fee and get a guide....More

Very Interesting history and architecture for those who may be interested. Going just for the fabulous views is worth the visit! An easy hour or two :-)

Get a guide to take you through the site. We visited after Ambomahinga which allowed a great flow of history. You can't go in to the main structure as works to restore after the fire have been halted with no sign of ever being finished...More

Don’t miss this if you are in Tana. A fascinating architectural site. Ask for Martin. Martin is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the political, cultural and architectural history of the Rova. He was a joy to tour this site with.

Really interesting history and architecture but it's the views over all of Tana that are the main draw. Take a local guide (I think it's mandatory anyway) as they're very knowledgeable and speak decent enough English.

This Queens Palace was beautiful in all its glory but now it is a burned out shell of what it used to be. Only the concrete exterior remain but still a beautiful castle. You have to take a guided tour to have any idea about...More

Having seen the palace before the fire I am a bit jaded in my opinion. It's a shame that the original structures have not been rebuilt. Our guide's command of English was marginal. The entry fee was a bit steep and then add another 50%...More

The Queen's Palace and the surrounding grounds were an interesting view into the history of Madagascar. My husband enjoys historical landmarks and especially remembers the church. It was nice to be able to look down on Tana and view all the rest of the city.
