This is clearly an important thing nesting area and haven for heron and ducks in the middle of a very busy and noisy city. However, it is expensive (15k AR per person plus same for compulsory guide) and little of great interest for the non...More

A good way to start getting familiar with the indigenous birdlife, before heading out to more distant National Reserves.

Great number of water birds, ducks, herons, and roosting egrets. But we also saw a couple of Malagasy (Malachite) Kingfisher, White-throated Rail, Madagascar Kestrel, Madagascar Coucal, and more. You can get the ticket at the gate now a days. It was a Sunday morning when...More

We spent several hours at the Parc, circumventing the lake and watching a large number of different bird species, and quite large numbers of birds in total, including the endemic and rare Meller's Duck. A very enjoyable and worthwhile experience.

We really enjoyed our visit to Tsarasaotra. We loved simply watching the birds, but also met some expert birders who reeled off a list of rare species they had spotted here. And even if all you want to do is to escape the noise and...More

I went with an organized tour to visit this parc. I am not sure if my expectations were a bit too high or I came just a bit on an unlucky time but I hardly saw any birds.

This is a bird lover's paradise; and even in the off season, you are guaranteed to see the great white egrets, the whistling ducks, cormorants, night herons, and even the madagascar king fisher. But during migration season - any extraordinary amount of birds rest at...More
