- Jeff TDoha, Qatar532 contributionsRelaxing spot for a breakWe toured this spot on a break in driving between towns. Very pleasant to walk around and enjoy the gardens. It was not crowded when we went so no stress of others being around. The gardens are quite cool and shaded which can be cold during winter (when we were there) so bring a jacket if you get cold easily. Having a guide assist if you want to know the history and plants is helpful. We were on a short stop and just walking through and snapping a few photos was sufficient for us.Visited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten February 20, 2024
- Toru OSetagaya, Japan3,251 contributionsBeautifulA beautiful garden located near the Atlantic Ocean. Its impressive flora make it one of the top attractions in Rabat. Admission is free and not only make it budget friendly but a place that you wouldn’t want to forget from your past traveling experiences.Visited January 2024Traveled soloWritten March 10, 2024
- Bob HWatsonville, California1,147 contributionsA nice place to relaxI missed this place the first time I went. There were multiple gates, so you have to enter the right one. Very nice, well-kept gardens. A cafe was located next to the gardens so you can have tea or coffee with some type of pastries. One guy walked around with tray of pastries. You grab what you want and pay on the spot. Bathrooms were available but you need to pay.Visited February 2024Traveled with friendsWritten March 31, 2024
- LeonhknyHong Kong, China23,468 contributionsSmall garden in RabatAs its name tells, Andalusian Gardens is a typical southern Spanish-style green area. Its neat interior and plants have made it a natural tourist draw. A stroll around the lush space is soothing and rewarding.Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 9, 2024

I encountered this Garden as I was walking down from the Kasbah neighborhoods. There is a Museum infront of this Garden where entrance fee is about $6.00.
It has several fountains, small canals with running water, flowering rose plants, herbs, orange and banana plants that have fruits.
There are coffee shops, souvenir stores, and public toilet nearthis attraction. Wished it has benches for visitors to sit down and enjoy the ambience. I enjoyed my FREE visit here!

It’s a heaven of tranquility, with its flower-filled little streets, Andalusian garden and Moorish café. The Oudaya gateway is built of dressed stone and is regarded as one of the jewels of Almohad art. Most of the remains still to be seen date back to the 12th century, and the Kasbah contains Rabat’s oldest mosque.

As you go downhill from Bab Oudayas you will find the Andalusian Gardens on your left. These are beautiful lush green gardens. You can enter them free of charge from sunrise till sunset. These gardens were planted and landscaped by French. You can see many plants here like the fruit trees, bougainvillea, daturas and other flowers and herbs. You can see Andalusian style deep, sunken beds of shrubs and flowers.
You can see many Moroccan women with children here.

The garden is small and well maintained. The walkabout takes only half an hour, and there are many photo opportunities. There are many cats here and they seem to be well=fed.
Entrance is free so make it a part of your itinerary when you are in the Old Town.

The Andalusian Gardens are some of the prettiest gardens I’ve ever seen. Full of flora and banana trees, the Andalusian Gardens are stunning. The Andalusian Gardens lie right along the gate to the Old Town and Medina, while close to the beach. I highly recommend!

There is nothing special about this garden with the exception of the cafe that offered excellent view of the river. Some block columns and cheap plants. Along the path there were vendors of painted tiles etc.

An absolute pleasure to be able to escape the hustle of Rabat into these quiet and wonderfully well kept gardens. A real battery re-charger before launching into the city again.

Located just inside the walls, the gardens provide an escape from the traffic and winding maze of roads where beautiful plants and flowers bloom. I recommend stopping at the garden cafe for mint tea and cookies with a view of the water.

The gardens are truly gorgeous. A little haven of peace tranquility nestled at the entrance to the Kasbah of Udayas.
The gardens are beautifully laid out and are a welcome stopping off point after wandering around the Kasbah.
This attraction is a perfect accessory to the Kasbah. Well worth a look and spending some time in.

how far is it from kasbah or any other tourist places?
Written March 28, 2017
Everything in Rabat is near :)
It is maybe 5min from Medina, 1min from the cemetery, and it is located in the old part of the city exactly in Kasbah, after one bar with beautiful view.

Not large, an hour will cover it but lots of interesting little areas to enjoy.
