Many buildings have been torn down to form the vast square still looking for it's new identity. Gone is the tinkering of brass smiths making household items, still sold here and the storks nesting on the ramparts have also fled to a more peacefull neighbourhood....More

On your Way to The two Palaces you might come to this place. Its quiet, there are some shops (cheaper than in The Souk) and there are some cafe’es, that make great food. I Can really recomend The cafe called snack Ferbantiers, in nr. 8....More

This was five minutes walk from our Riad. We came here often to eat, browse the shops and just hang out.. Restaurants are basic but wholesome. The spice market just off the square is interesting.

There are a couple of small stores. It seems like the square was renovated recently and looks clean. Some shops show fixed prices, which is rather fair or even a lot cheaper than the main souk. Staff are friendly and not pushy at all. You...More

We liked this area and went to an open cafe several times, just to sit and watch the world go by. Apart from the women selling bangles, not too much hassle. Some interesting shops and workshops.

we were told these souks not as good as Fes, but the men there were making good quality crafts. super friendly, we wanted to buy a lamp but the quality was such that we went overboard and got three! easier to navigate than in Fes...More
