Desert Agafay and Atlas Mountains & Camel ride Day Trip From Marrakech

1,899 reviews
Morocco’s Agafay desert lies within day-trip distance of Marrakech, making it an easy alternative to visiting the Sahara Desert further south. With this private tour, save the hassle of an independent trip and combine the Agafay with a journey into the Atlas Mountains. Explore Berber villages and souks; cross the Kik Plateau, and finish with a camel trek in the Agafay before returning.

Maison de la Photographie of Marrakech is located in the heart of the Medina. You can find it right next to the Museum of Marrakech near the famous Ben Youssef Mosque. It holds a wonderful collection of photographs displayed on three floors. You can see prints dating back to 1870 here. Each photograph has detailed descriptions. The museum is the brainchild of Marrakech born Hamid Mergani and Parisian Patrick Menac’h. It was inaugurated in 2009.

A very nice travel in the history of Morocco and Marakkesh. Also a very nice terrace with rooftop views for a coffee or lunch. A recommended visit if you are in Marrakesh.

Interesting photos in a little museum with helpful staff. Useful descriptions of each photographer and series. It’s also set in a lovely building. Great terrace for tea at the end, too.

Really enjoyed the museum. Fabulous old photos of Marrakesh and Morocco. It was interesting to compare the scenes in these old photos to what we see today. We bought postcards and a book of photographs. There is a restaurant upstairs. The only thing is finding the museum within the maze of streets. We were lucky enough to find a local who pointed us in the right direction.
