Magical evening in Marrakesh
Mar 2020
We did an evening cooking class/dinner as part of a planned group tour. It was a great experience. The evening began with tea and introductions -- both to the women of the school and to the basic spices and principles of Moroccan cooking. Everyone had a chance to fully participate in the cooking. We received recipes for each of the foods that we prepared -- and the food was really good. It was a lovely experience and I'm glad that I had a chance to experience it.

So much fun!
Feb 2020 • Friends
On a tour of Morocco, we spent a morning here learning all about Moroccan cooking and ingredients. We then went to the kitchen where we each had our own cooking station and we prepared our lunch. This consisted of chicken tagine and two cold salads. We had watched bread and a vegetable tagine prepared. Even the inexperienced cooks in our group had fun and did well with the step by step instructions. We then met in a beautiful outdoor patio and ate that which we cooked for our lunch. An absolutely fantastic experience! I highly recommend this activity!

Very up to date equipment for a foodie experience
Feb 2020
Situated in a renovated Riad, our group had a wonderful time learning about Moroccan Cuisine. We first learned about spices and the tea service, then went upstairs to the ultra modern classroom. Each person had their own set up and labeled our tagines so we could be served our fruits of our labor for lunch. There were monitors at each station so you could clearly see the instructor. We went home with a full packet of recipes. We try to include a cooking class when we travel, and this was the most modern we have attended.

Great Group Cooking Event
Mar 2020
Our group of 19 created individual traditional salads and tagines with organized, efficient, and friendly help from the staff--each of us had our own station and screen to watch the chef in action. Some prep done in advance and I can't say whether our experience was somewhat streamlined because we were at capacity as a group in this location. Food was yum. Lovely location and vegetarian-friendly.

Wonderful experience
Mar 2020
The cooking class was included as part of our group tour. What a fantastic experience. We learned about Moroccan spices, and then on to the cooking. We cooked traditional Moroccan food. We each made our own. We all agreed it was the best food we had on the trip.

A fantastic way to spend the morning!
Mar 2020
A friend and I took the Traditional Moroccan Cuisine class (3-3 1/2 hours) during the first week of March. The class started at approximately 10am and lasted until a little past 1pm. During the class, we made bread, which we had baked in the communal neighborhood oven, salads, chicken tagine, and dessert. The class was exceptionally well run. Not only was the staff proficient, but they created a really friendly environment for everyone involved. The class was done in both english and french. At the end of the class, we ate what we had made and were also allowed to take home all the recipes with us. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in doing a hands-on class in Marrakech.

Fabulous cooking experience.

This was an amazing experience to learn how to cook Moroccan cuisine. It’s a very thorough cooking experience where they explain the main ingredients in their famous Tagine and they go through everything step by step which makes it easy even for people who are not used to cooking. We got to make Moroccan bread and visit the local village oven to bake it. It was a unique experience and very fun. My boyfriend and I loved it especially eating it all at the end of the day. The women who run it are trying to achieve female equality within Moroccan society by showing how important women can be in making a living for themselves.

I was traveling last week on a two week trip of Morocco with a small number of people doing a tour. A cooking school to Lotus Chef was arranged by our tour company and we loved it. Beautiful setting, delicions food, great tranferable information. I totally recommend this for anyone who likes food and wants to learn how to prepare Morrocan cuisine.

Wonderful experience learning to cook Moroccan food
Mar 2020
Spent the morning at Lotus Chef Cooking Class, was so informative. Everyone involved with the school truly loved to share their knowledge. Watched the tea ritual, which had about six or seven stages before we shared the perfect cup of tea.
Proceeded to cook our our meals and share the feast. Best part, we didn't have to do dishes. Highly recommend this adventure.
