We had a private day long tour of the Medina and our guide was experienced and very culturally minded so we were totally in awe of what we experienced. To see the various different areas and all the hustle and bustle of people, donkeys, carts,...More

Wow, the Fez medina is unlike anything our family had experienced on vacation before. It was a bit overwhelming at times, but we could always retreat to our Riad to recharge. The official walking tour signs (brown, green, etc.) were a lifesaver.

Fès is the oldest of the four imperial cities and owes this prestige to the socio-cultural weight it has preserved over the centuries. It is also named the "Florence" of Morocco, due to the great contribution that the two cities have given to culture. Today...More

Our first day at the Medina was with a good local guide, who brought us in places that we would have never seen on our own. The Medina is made of infinite small alleys, featuring different offerings, from meat (pretty crude how they manage chicken...More

The medina is nice to stay 1 or 2 days, not more. Has a really cute "rainbow street", but sometimes can be too chaotic with people always trying to get your attention. Also, at night I felt quite unsafe there when it starts to get...More

This area is good for some kilometers of entertainment. Start with a map or downloaded Google Maps before you go. You will be lost in space in no time.

The energy and atmosphere of this Médina is exactly what I hoped it would be. It’s wonderful how little you are hassled and how fun it is to get lost in this cultural haven

Obviously it's super busy and be prepared to be harassed by people to buy their wares. Although the sights were amazing, do keep an eye on your belongings and be careful of "helpful" people offering to take you around. A good place to see the...More

We stayed at a Riad right in town which was great. I highly recommend visiting the Medina. We did most of our shopping here and got some great deals. We visited the tannery with a local guide (just someone off the street) and it was...More
