There are a few interesting sites and bookshops but really this is not a place you meed to visit unless you have lots of time in Casablanca.

Habous is a good place to shop for Moroccan souvenirs. Pleasant to walk through the small streets to find special things to take home as souvenirs or gifts for friends. Be sure to bargain.

It's a lovely place to go for shopping. The sellers are not nice and not too commercial. They treat tourist with good respect and not annoy you while you choose or look on something. There a local cafe which you can have coffee or tea...More

Habous district. Nice district. Lots of bookshops but also eateries and pasteur shops. And a Royal palace.

Very interesting part of the old town and the market area. Great small shops for buying last minute souvenirs and presents. Recommend the market place with spices and herbs and olives, really good to see.

Loved the by lanes of Casablanca especially the handicrafts at Quartier Habous. Beware you really need to be a good negotiator to enter this place or you would feel that you got looted in this picture perfect city ...caveat emptor.

A lovely little North African bazaar. Not the Khan in Cairo or markets in Fez or Marrakesh, but worth a visit if find yourself in Casablanca.

We went to buy: kaftans, tajines, and some souvenirs for friends. We were not disappointed. The prices are low, but you MUST bargain. After our experiences, I'd say start at about 40% of what they offer. shoot for 50%. However, we were not always successful....More

Many different shops adorn this market, but I'd say there's a bias towards clothing. Brits be warned very little English is spoken, but you can get by bartering. Plenty of souvenir ideas for the folks back at home.

Sorry but I've only ever gone to Habous during the daytime. I'm assuming it is the same as the Medina though and things start closing around 8 or 9.
