Very old Ottoman Mosque, newly renovated by Turkish Government. It has Mediterranean view and good outside look. I was not able to check inside of it.

This important mosque just below the Casbah and in a bustling market area, has had several incarnations, and was at one time a church. Visitors should be able to enter after morning prayers if modestly dressed, but I was not there at the right time.

The mosque has been renovated to its former glory, beautiful architecture. Unfortunetly the mosque was closed and we were not able to visit it.

A typically Turkish style mosque of ancient times. Near the heart of Algiers, it is a very wellknown spot located near the Casbah district. It has been restored and it has regained its beauty, I think.

It was under reparation so I only saw it from outside, so it was pity. Could be really nice if it was without rack? and behind fence.

This certainly splendid mosque is currently under restoration by the Turkish (!) government and there is scaffolding anywhere around. The interior is closed for the restauration work entirely.

The building was built during the Ottoman's era! The architecture is so beautiful! It was on renovation the last time I tried to visit which is a pretty good thing as it's definitely a priceless treasure Algeria should keep & maintain!

Would like to visist it in future trips to Algiers, even if it is meant to be a place of prayer, It would be a loss if we never get to see the great minds of arabic architects. It would not be a bad idea...More

This mosque still seems to be under renovation and it looks like that may continue to be the situation for some time to come. Located in the lower Kasbah in a busy market area, you can still get a good idea of its appearance despite...More
