Beautifully restored complex of Moorish buildings. This was where the Ottoman Dey lived when Algeria was part of their empire. Then it was visibly part of the lower Casbah but a large amount of this area was destroyed by the French and so it became...More

This is a complex made up of several old houses, with interesting displays, views over the harbour, and a good museum shop. Strongly recommended.

Restored palace of old rulers, very impressive decoration but very few information posters or boards. Coincided with Berber exhibition which made the visit more worthwhile.

I enjoy walking around this museum. The guide were friendly but they really did not have much to talk about the place. The coolest part of the tour was the doll customs exhibition

old palace, but, basically, it's just a lot of empty rooms. No guides waiting to explain it. A few info boards here and there. But a prime example of tourism in Algeria - little effort made, and a chance missed
