We were most impressed. Wonderful speakers, beautiful buildings, this school has everything you need or could possibly want. We’re throwing’ our hat in the ring.
(The free Rice Krispie treats (invented by a Cyclone), parking voucher, free Caribou coffee, & t-shirt didn’t hurt either.)

Iowa State has a beautiful campus and we enjoyed the official tour a great deal. Our guide was quite helpful and we even had a department head come out and chat with us.

too much drinking, too little monitoring, too much underage drinking, binge drinking, smoking pot. i suppose it is this way all over now. i'll be sending my kids elsewhere after one went here. sadly, this is our alma mater.

The campus cops are very aggressive on parking tickets, especially not during the rest of the school year. Expect a $25 parking ticket if you visit the campus. This is a place not to visit.

while it is very expensive, this school is great!!. Dropped my baby girl off and was very afraid she wasn't going to be taken care of. Well she wasn't. It was better than that. This child, yes I said child. She had no worldly experience at all. This child lost her phone, her atm card, her credit card, her keys to her house, and her keys to her mailbox. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM WERE RETURNED!!! I feel like if your sensible and don't over indulge like a normal new college student would you will be ok. She's in her last year and I am so grateful she went to this safe, welcoming, wonderful school.

This campus is beautiful. ISU has a lot going for them. It’s a great school, and even though it’s big, it doesn’t feel overwhelming. The campus is very accessible, plus has buses to take students around campus & off campus. There’s over 800 special interest clubs so there is something for everyone.

It's a lovely campus, in a nice town, with downright nice people and offers some excellent facilities. If you're into engineering - of any sort, agriculture or veterinary medicine, well, it's a swell university. The bus system - that allows students to ride just by showing their university ID, in cooperation between the University and the town is an excellent example of how the cooperation between town & gown here works for everyone's benefit. The Marching Band is very entertaining and this university seems to offer a genuine opportunity to attend a first-rate [top 20 in public, tied with seven for the 35th slot in engineering of all - public and private, in the country] university. OK, it's not an Ivy, but - then, most people aren't 'Ivy material.' It's not in a major city - which is a two edged sword: on the one hand, the arts, cuisine and urban offerings are limited; on the other hand, there's little crime, it's clean, approachable and a swell place to focus on one's education, developing friendships, and that's saying something!
Ames Iowa, who'd have thought... Oh, and their football stadium seats about 56,000 people. If you plan on going for homecoming, well, if you're not bringing an RV, make your hotel reservations as far in advance as you can [and be sure to have the BBQ ribs at the Hickory].
