Exhibits and information have been researched and are historically accurate. The curator of our museum has visited Torture Museums in Europe where most of these devices originated. A collection of books on the sublect is available to browse while at the Museum. We are always on alert for information and adding new exhibits to our collection. Over 50 exhibits of torture devices from all over the world, some very simple, some diabolically clever, some still in use today. We have new Torture exhibits, and are expanding the museum to include the "Odditorium" which includes exhibits of Medical Quackery, Civil War Medicine and artifacts, human anomalies,VooDoo, and other curiosities. We plan to open these exhibits by the end of July, 2014.

We went to the museum and it is very creepy. All of the device's were used to hurt and mutilate people. It was also in a haunted building!

The museum was small but the collection was comprehensive enough to be thoroughly disturbing. I never knew that there were so many ways to inflict pain on another human being.

Definitely creepy and disturbing. They could spruce up the displays just a bit. A little better drawings and the presentation of the descriptions could be made a little more interesting.

Thank you for your review. Many of the pictures on display with the devices are from old wood cuts and are quite primitive, some almost cartoon like, but they help to tell the story. Thanks for visiting.

I'm sorry that you came on a day that we were not open. Calling ahead is a good idea no matter where you are going especially if you are travelling any distance. I hope you will return in the future.

Not much to say about this small display of torture devices. The fee is $5 per person which probably keeps the lights on. I am not really into looking at stuff like this but I have to say it does make you think what happened...More
