The drive is spectacular and then you reach the summit. On a clear day it really is breathtaking Many cars and buses along the way but traffic is manageable and view is with the effort.

You can not hike down from the Pali Lookout due to a recent rock slide near the lookout. So park at the parking lot of First Presbyterian (No parking on Sunday.)and hike up that way. Plan on stopping at the "Road Closed " sign and...More

This is by far one of the most memorable places we visited, next to Pearl Harbor and the PunchBowl. Take a minute to read up on this historic site and when you visit you will not be disappointed. The winds on this hill are crazy...More

The view is magnificent. Learning the history of the area through the wonderful signage really helps to explain the view and the park. I also enjoyed reading the information about the original Pali Road which runs just below the main observation area. It is windy...More

The Pali lookout is one of those things you will miss if you are not looking for it. It's right off of Highway 61 between Honolulu and Kailua. The walk to the lookout point is maybe 500 feet from the parking lot, so everyone can...More

The views were well worth the $3 parking fee. It was interesting to read the history of the pathway too. It's a must stop if you're driving by you won't be able to get that photo from your car. There are wild chickens there too!

Pali Lookout presents an outstanding panoramic view of windward side of island. Short drive from Honolulu. Many days you will find the peak shrouded in clouds. Limited parking with meters. It is very windy- be prepared. Hawaii historical significance in unifying control of islands.

Beautiful views - worth driving there for the lookout. Can get busy when tour buses turn up. Parking is paid. We went on a overcast day & it was extremely windy and foggy.

Worth a stop if you’re in the area. Heard you have to pay to park. It’s really windy and was kind of chilly. We did the few min walk, took a look and some pics and off we went.

Yes you can take Uber or Lyft up to the Pali Lookout. It would be rather expensive depending on where you are starting from. You would also probably have to pay the parking fee. Renting a car for a day would be easier and... More

I think it's just an "honor system" to pay if you decide to stop, park your car and walk up to the overlook. No charge for just driving through.
