This is an easy access walk from a parking area with room for many cars. You get to see the falls clearly but at a distance as there are really not paths available to get near the falls. Some waterfalls require long hikes, so this is easily accessible on the East coast of Kauai, but the viewing at a distance is the tradeoff. Just manage your expectations and enjoy the view.

Stumbled upon this after leaving Lydgate chocolate farm and it was a pleasant little treat. Easy to view waterfall and River area with nice mountain backgrounds. Easy parking and restrooms. Check it out.

We were told to come by thru a recommendation. The waterfalls had double spouts of water churning thru the cliffs, one was actually coming through the rocks. You can't get really close up, but there are plenty of photo opportunities.

The parking was definately a challenge, but manageable, and we were not able to get very close, but close enough to our VRBO that worth the trip.

This dual waterfall is scene from the parking area along the road so there's not walking or hiking required.
You can walk up a little further and cross the road to get a view of the river.
We stopped here on our way to do the West Trail of the Sleeping Giant.
It's so easy to see and get to, why not stop and take a photo.

I think the title says it all... the waterfall from this vista point, given it's a super easy drive to get here and there is a nice big free parking lot, is somewhat not possible to see... not only it's pretty far but everything is so overgrown (at least was during our October visit) that you can barely even see and despite what pictures show the pathway ends right as you get "any closer" and all you can do is cross the street...
... to get to the Wailua River - which is indeed a scenic and beautiful spot! Since both spots use the same parking lot that is the only reason why someone would want to visit this area - it's not really on the way to anything else either other than maybe the Hindu Temple
TIP: go see Wailua Falls - similar concept but smaller parking lot yet much better view and closer view of the Falls

Went on a van tour, and one of our stops was the Opaekaa Falls. The falls are okay, but the observation point is so far away, that there's really nothing spectacular about them. However, when you cross the road and look down into the valley, with the Wailua River running through it....now that's spectacular. Definitely worth the stop, and great photo ops on that side.

This is a beautiful waterfall to see in Kauai with easy car parking and no arduous hiking to get there. If you simply want to stop by and see a lovely waterfall and get some great photos, without a workout, then this is the waterfall for you.

We were in the area and saw the sign for Opeeka Falls located in Kauai. There is a scenic lookout near the road that gives a great view and a walkway to get more close-up photos. There are picnic tables and restrooms nearby. Translated from Hawaiian, Opeeka means “rolling shrimp” because the area was known for its abundance of shrimp. I learned the overlook is where Raiders of the Lost Ark was filmed.

We drove a few miles out of our way to visit these falls. Honestly, it wasn't worth it. You can't get very close to the falls, they are not that big, and there are lots of better falls on the island.
