Nice drive, alternate routes. Lots of birds and wild gators. The views at the old pump house are nice. Walking/ biking trails also available

So good we did it twice! 1st lap, we saw 30+ gators and many other things, but who cares, it was all about the gators for us. 2nd lap, most of them must’ve been hungry or bored as only saw around 10, but still awesome...More

We were here for 2 days and drove the the 11 mile drive (at about 3 miles per hour!) 4 times! Every time we caught glimpses of special treasures of fauna and flora.

Open sunup to sunset. Take a lunch, and drinks. There is 1 location with 2 covered picnic tables. 2 locations along the drive that has porta pottys. You never know what you will see. I am not sure how far the drive was but it...More

Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive is a really awesome (and free) way to explore Florida wildlife. Saw lots of wildlife, birds, and alligators on our drive through.Take your time, pull off. Bring your cameras and binoculars. It was a really great experience.

Can't believe we have never visited this trail before. Fairly easy to find and not too busy - plenty of spots to stop and look the wildlife and take a walk around. Loads of birds and saw plenty of alligators basking the sun. Free entry...More

Rough gravel. Mountain Bikes only. It is basically a maintenance road for a swamp. A monument to the utter stupidity of the Water Management District. The largest environmental disaster in Florida. No one was punished for Killing lake Apopka. Today it is a Dead Lake....More

Yes it is a very narrow loop road. Not sure about a camper. However in today's Orlando Sentinel there is an article about the flooding and damage done to the road. It is closed indefinitely. Sorry.
