Attended this years John Denver Celebration and our first stop was the Sanctuary. Very peaceful, beautiful and well cared for. We visited while the aspen leaves were gold, red and yellow.

It was quite nice. We would return. It was peaceful and quiet. Go from there to a walk along the river.

What a lovely place to visit - the gardens were amazing - lots of beautiful sculpture and stone benches with quotes inscribed on them to sit on. Well worth a visit!

Really glad we stopped here. Take a stroll among the flowers and gardens of the tranquil site--with inspirational quotes inscribed in the stones. The John Denver Sanctuary is nestled in the heart of Aspen, next to the Rio Grande Park, adjacent to Theatre Aspen's summer...More

A must-see if you are in Aspen. A great legacy and natural setting for music artist John Denver 1943 - 1997

I would suggest contacting Willie Hoevers, who is also making plans for the 20th anniversary of John Denver's death. Willie is also on Facebook. My wife Diane tells me she knows you from Facebook. We live up in Wisconsin.
