Beautiful and peaceful sanctuary. I enjoyed reading the quotes and song lyrics on the rocks. Wish I brought a picnic lunch and a book. I could have sat there all day!

We walk through John Denver sanctuary. The words to his songs were carved into large stones, making his lyrics even more poignant. You can see what he felt in this surrounding. Beautiful easy trail and setting

Had wanted to go here but it wasn’t a priority. We hiked, bikes and ran everyday. The sanctuary is in town and you don’t need a lot of time to visit. His lyrics are inscribed in the rocks and the garden is really nice. Close to...More

Being a big fan of John Denver, I REALLY wanted to see this. It's an easy walk from the main part of town and just very well done. There are some of his song lyrics etched into some large rocks along with some others as...More

This is certainly a “must do” if you were John Denver fan. Many of his lyrics are carved in the rocks. The sanctuary is a garden (a bit like a botanical garden). It consists of packed gravel trails winding among gardens and rocks along the...More

The Sanctuary was okay, but nothing to rave about. The park was full of kids and teenagers just hanging out.

Right by the river, engrave on stones are some known John Denver's songs. Specially pretty in the fall. The colors in Aspen are amazing.

John would be proud. Such a peaceful place. Quiet creek running nearby. Beautiful wild flowers and blue sky. Love the JD lyrics carved into the large granite stones along the path. We’ve been to Aspen in October several times and wouldn’t miss this place for...More

I would suggest contacting Willie Hoevers, who is also making plans for the 20th anniversary of John Denver's death. Willie is also on Facebook. My wife Diane tells me she knows you from Facebook. We live up in Wisconsin.
