It’s a great conversion from the Hollywood Hotel and fantastic use of the Guardian’s universe creating a full immersion experience. Also keep a look outside and in and around the tower as this is where the marvel characters can just show up, sometimes randomly. We were in the queue when the black Panther just came out of an exit and was interacting with the tower like he was carrying out an investigation.

Easily the greatest ride in California Adventure! The line is actually fun to be in too! Rocket from the movie narrates and there are things to see and experience before you get on the ride. Fun! The ride itself is INSANE!!! Make sure you put anything loose away because you will lose it! I laughed my head off at the drops and lifts - so many you could barely breathe. The movie parts were fun too - we watched the movie that night at our hotel because the ride was so much fun!
Before the ride we saw Avenger characters up high on a ship. There was also a Wakanda Warrior demonstration in the plaza nearby. There is so much put into the presentation of the rides. It makes it more enjoyable and memorable. We also got to visit with Wasp outside after the ride and give fist bumps with starry-eyed 8 year olds.

This ride is the former Tower of Terror which was a great ride. This one is more fun for a Marvel fan, especially when you first enter the building and are waiting in line. Tons of Eater eggs inside and in the commentary.
Rocket is the narrator and the dialogue is clever. The mechanics of the ride are exactly the same as the Tower was but climbing through the back there are a ton of old Tower holdovers but also a ton of models and props from different parts of Disneyland. You pick that up when you have been there a few times.
Lines are always long outside and not much to enjoy outside so that would be my only issue. But still love it.

This is the funniest ride in California Adventure. It shots you to the top of the building at a high speed then stops and the door opens and you can see across the whole park, then it drops you to the bottom at high speeds, It does this several times before the ride ends. I Love this ride and go on it every time I'm here.

We were here in September and to celebrate the Halloween season, this ride added a Monsters After Dark version that starts after 3pm. The regular Breakout version runs at opening up to 3pm.
Guardians of the Galaxy is now considered part of the Avengers Campus. It is really cool to see at night with the lights on, and my son says the Monsters After Dark ride is even better than the Breakout ride. However, because it is new, the lines can get very long, especially since there are no more fast pass options in the park.

Fun scenario with the Guardians of the Galaxy breaking out of captivity with your help. You ride an elevator Very Fast up and down an erratic number of floors several times. Safely belts allow room for you to rise and fall several inches in your seat. Not for the timid or when your tummy is uncertain. Great fun if you enjoy roller coasters - fast but no turns to bother anyone with neck issues.

One of our family faves. The queue moved quickly making the 30 minute wait seem to pass swiftly. Hang onto your hats. Recommend you leave bags, hats, etc with someone not riding or in a locker.

Do not ride this if you are afraid of heights or unexpected drops! If you don't like rocket type of rides that launch or drop you, you will not like this experience at all!
I did not enjoy this ride although my husband and son did. There are way too many drops and launches that I couldn't even focus on what briefly appeared on the screens when the doors opened. I was so busy worried about what was going to happen next. I probably could have handled 2-3 drops, but I was shaking by the time I got off. Less drops and more time showing the characters on the screens when the doors open would make this better for me personally. Teenagers on with us seem to love it. They've turned this into a thrill ride. From reviews it seems you either love or hate it.

I don't like this ride but my husband and kids went twice during our 3 days in Disneyland/CA Adventure. Fast pass is definitely needed as the line went over 2 hrs on the days we were there and they ran out by mid afternoon. We did go on some of the busiest days of the year (Dec 28-30) so the lines may be a lot shorter on other days. The second time they went, one of the elevators was not working so even with a fast pass, they had to wait about 40 minutes before they got on.
My family said that it has changed a lot. They say it feels faster and the music and theme definitely makes it better. A must if you visit CA Adventure and are into that sort of ride!

This is the previous building for Tower of Terror. So the concept is the same, just different story line. You go into a lift that goes up with sudden drops down. And it does this several times with the highest drop right at top where you get a view of the park. Overall an exciting ride but we had a youngster crying after the ride.
