We visited to find the names of a couple of friends and family. The book at the entrance as well as the volunteers that where there made it very easy. The small kiosk just before you get to the wall had pencils and paper for...More

Our visit to DC this time was spent in visiting the Memorials that we had not seen before, plus re-visiting our favorite ones. All the War Memorials were beautifully done, and just looking at this simplistic granite wall with fifty thousand or so names engraved...More

Great humbling experience. Truly a must see for anyone coming to DC. Seeing all the names and experiencing that with the veterans visiting is amazing.

Upon arrival in DC, this was our first memorial to visit. So many names. Reflect on loss of such promising young lives was very moving.

A must see when visiting D.C. This memorial is very moving. It brings me to tears. The design is beautiful, as you walk you descend and the gravity of the number of people lost surrounds you and causes you to realize how devastating war is.

This is a must see sight in DC and I can imagine how emotional it must be for family members or friends of those who were killed during the war. It is a great transition from the Lincoln monument.

If you are just looking at this one memorial it will not take more than 20-30 minutes. However the memorials are all very close and in walking distance.
