This is a must do. It is not a long drive but puts you up close to high mountains, falls, lakes and ski areas. The views are iconic. Interestingly, parts of the movie Deerhunter were filmed here. The road is not that well advertised but...More

My husband and I drove up to Mount Baker in April 2018. As we got further into the mountains there was so much snow (not on the road). It was simply beautiful and breathtaking! The ski resort was closed because it was almost avalanche season...More

Recently drove to Mt Baker. Road in good shape, a little twisty at times. Not much to see, and amenities lacking at the top. One restroom with a toilet, a urinal and a sink, all in the same small room, opening to the outside of...More

The ride up Mount Baker Parkway was really beautiful. This is a narrow curvy at times very steep Road with sheer drop offs on one side and straight up and down rock on the other. It is well worth the ride the views from the...More

We drive this route fairly often in the summer and fall - as it leads to some of Washington's best day hikes. Glimpses of the areas high peaks are limited until you reach the end of the byway - as you drive through the Mt....More

Husband, son, and I had a great time driving up to past the ski area. Go prepared with good walking shoes, rain gear, and maybe even walking poles. The area had plenty of parking. Some trails were narrow, others were wider. All were beautiful.
