The river meets the ocean at this inlet and so visiting this site depends a lot on the tide. I prefer when the tide is a bit higher than low tide. Parking is limited. People bring their dogs who enjoy playing in the sand and...More

No Bathrooms. No showers. No facilites at all. Best waves for beginner and moderate level surfers, especially when low tide turns in the mornings

a great "day at the beach." The tide was great, kite flying, picnicking, sea shell collecting, watching Gopher Tortoise in their natural habitat. Not a crowded beach, beautiful little niche of nature

If you get there on a quiet day, there are tons of different shore birds. It's incredibly peaceful here, and definitely one of my favorite local beaches. Tons of seashells too.

I was staying just three miles from this inlet and never knew it was there. I walked the beach every day, but didn't realize this marvelous gem was steps away on the west side of A1A by the Matanzas bridge. I booked a free tour...More

We traveled up and down A1A looking for a spot where the dogs could run and rediscovered Matanzas Inlet. If you get up early and don't mind a bit of a walk, the tip where the ocean and the inlet meet is a great place...More

This is a hidden treasure only locals know, a jewel that shouldn't be missed. I highly recommend going during a low tide, which is typically in the morning this time of the year: you will be in awe! Dunes of sand, pools of clear water,...More
