We took this trail with our kids - 5 and 2 - and it was perfect. I wouldn’t really call it hiking since it was so flat, but we ventured off the rocky path a few times to peek at the river. We actually kept...More

This trail is very easy to walk. My family of four walked this trail in the middle of May, 2017, and it was snowing a bit. We saw a herd of elk in the distance. We saw moose in the valley very close to this...More

This trail is what it says it is, and more. The 1.6 miles of gravel, level path is suitable for everybody, including wheelchair folks. The path parallels the young Colorado River and meanders through a beautiful meadow. We saw elk on the banks of the...More

This trail is perfect for families or if you want a short easy hike. The flat trail leads to a shallow river and big open valley. There are informative signs along the way, which is an added bonus. Plenty of parking.

The map on this attraction page does not show the correct location; This trail is in the southwest side of Rocky Mountain National Park, on the west side of US34 about 7 miles north of Grand Lake. Also, the description says it's good for mountain...More

I suspect most people pass this by as it is on the west side of Rocky Mountain National Park and just a very small, short trail, but there is a restroom. Parking is at the bottom of the hill after you pull off Trail Ridge...More

Bring lunch and enjoy the valley at a very well maintained picnic area then hike the FLAT, short loop trail for a great afternoon stop. There are restroom facilities but they are primitive. The driveway from the highway is stone and easy to miss but...More

There are only a couple short walks/Hikes or what we call warm-ups on the west side of RMNP. This little one has a lot to offer. Lots of scenery, Colorado River, wildlife and a nice easy walk... You can't ask for much else and it...More

If you are looking for a completely level, relaxing trail, this one fits the bill. On the west side of the park and right off Trail Ridge Road, we found this spot to be very quiet on a Monday afternoon. My guess is that it...More

We walked this trail to enjoy the river and possibly see elk. It is flat, wide and accessible. There are trails with better viewing but if you are physically limited, this is a great opportunity to see the beauty of RMNP.
