We drove the east loop of the San Juan Skyway to see the plummeting cliffs, mountain top views and gorgeous scenery. We had been told that the west side was a safe road and not quite as scenic as the east side. That is NOT...More

We drove the entire loop of the skyway the beginning of May. Stunning scenery, for the passenger at least. Driver needs to keep their eyes on the road. The road is well travelled, only 2 lanes, with no shoulder. There are tight switch backs, rock...More

We took this drive based on a recommendation from a local. There are many amazing look-out stops along the route. There are also a few opportunities to stop for lunch or a beverage.

My husband, 21 year old son and I were in awe of this drive. Without stops, it would take 5-6 hours, but we made so many stops that it took 12 hours! The views, sheer drops, magnificent mountains, waterfalls, aspens turning gold and more of...More

Forget wasting money on the Durango to Silverton train, this is where it's at! The only creepy part is the 10 miles south of Ouray and it's not that bad at all, just pay attention if you're the driver! There are plenty of overlooks so...More

We have traveled in several regions in Colorado over the years, but by far, this was the best scenery we have ever seen. The scenery around every turn seemed to be trying to outdo the last thing we saw. My wife and I were traveling...More
