We visited Bauskas on the same day with a Rundale visit. We hired a driver from the Riga cruise port to Bauskas. About one hour and ten minutes on good highways. I never saw the Bauskas castles from a split in the rivers perspective, so...More

Very beautiful place for a great walk - expecially at autumn! You can go and visit it inside, see the beautiful park around it, and there are also two lakes - both on different sides :) So it looks very beautiful ! Romantic place!

Went with the family. Access was 8 euro for the gang. Sword play, tour, above ground, below ground, music, wine, and food. Good food. Will definitely return.

Another great tour of a very different traditional building. Highly recommended. Nicely complemented the visit to the palace.

Museum part was very extensive and full of historical notes. Staff are on hand in period costumes to assist in explanations. Only thing that did not fit was two of the staff were on cell phones during a lull in patrons. Otherwise you would think...More

Very clean and nice athmosphere. Picturesque view from tower. Good for walk around in two different eras. Old castle from 15th century, is in ruins and gives intresting accent to "new" castle from 16th century. A more recent part of the ensemble is the residence...More
