Many floors each with a different display. Natures/natural hisotry, soviet tule,German rule, lots of movies to watch. Stair had pithy anti-Communist statements. Art gallery, gift shop. Possible to climb up to ramparts. Lots of English signage.

The place features museum which provides insight to both Saaremaa history and general Soviet occupation in Estonia. The exhibition was well laid and worth a visit if you're interested in history.

We had a through visit to Kuresaare Piiskopilinnus with a knowledgeable guide. Intetesting history and intriguing facts from past centuries. Great views from the narrow roof terrace surrounding the hole castle!

In the castle you get basic idea of the living in a medieval castle. Almost even more interesting is the museum that gives a picture of the life in Saaremaa in general during Soviet occupation.

A very good museum and a striking structure that's managed to survive history and is being well tended today. There's plenty to see and do here, involving much climbing of stairs, so a certain level of a) interest and b) fitness will be required. Take...More
