These are the old Barracks near the Swedish Gate in Riga, They have been restored and now are now restaurants, shops etc. Their uniformity and painted exteriors make a very picturesque streetscape.

Really nice stroll down an atrtractive and different street...the style of architecture is to my taste and it is not busy. Just take your time to pop into the shops and cafes along the way.

Nicely kept buildings that where the old Swedish barracks, but now house coffee shops, restaurants and bars, also gift shops, nice for a stroll and close to the castle, the powder tower, Swedish gate and the old city wall, so lots to do in one...More

A very long buildings built by the Swedes as their barracks for soldiers. Now the barracks are used as cafes, restaurants and sobenir shops, but quite nice. We had coffee in one of the basements

This beautiful very long building was built in the 18th century, and renovated in the 90's, with map in hand we walked along the cobbled streets of old town, this was one of the many sites/sights to see. Definitely worth a visit during a walk...More
