Interesting and nice place near the Baltic. Windy but pleasant walk along the sand beach and in the pedestrian street of Jurmala.

Cold. Smelly. Lots of loud not-Latvian people shouting and smoking. Parking is terrible. Take the train to dullsville.

This 10 km beach is fine sand and the sea is very shallow. In June it heats up fast and we had 20C sea temperature on 1 June. The beach is not very crowded and you can even cycle on a stretch of this beach....More

Bikes with over inflated tyres can be hired to use on the sand. The sea is shallow for a good way out so safe for children to paddle
