This is a lovely tower, which is part of the impressive wall surrounding the old town of Tallinn. The tower can be found very close to the famous Viru gates.

Worth the few euro to climb up if you want to see some lovely views of Old Town. You can walk along the top of the wall, and you can go up two towers--one on either end--for even better views. The tower staircases are a bit cramped and steep, just as a heads-up, but short (as in, there aren't a lot of stairs to climb).

The Helleman Tower, right by Viru Gate, is one of many towers lining the city wall. This is one of the 26 that still standing and one of the must things to do in Tallinn.
The tower is a brilliant and largely accessible piece of medieval architecture. If you can brave the slightly wobbly staircase to the tower to see some pretty impressive city views.

This is a really great thing. The old walls of the city not only exist but they let you go up on the walls and in the actual tower. I found this fantastic.

Located right next to Viru gates, this was one of the first places to visit in Tallinn, and certainly the best. It is beyond amazing, and transfers you to the medieval times. The views are stunning from up there, especially with the snow-covered houses nearby. The gentleman working there was very polite and helpful. I highly recommend visiting this place.

This place is great. It has beautiful views of the old town. The brickwork is beautiful. I got in for free using a Tallinn Card (an excellent purchase when touring Tallinn as most museums, churches and attractions accept them). This is not a place I would’ve thought to pay into if I had not had the card

The tower gives you access to a section of the walls which give incredible views across the city. Amazing place to visit and such wonderful sights.

Only 3 euros each to climb up on the city wall, but not recommended for those scared of heights. The wall contains a wooden walkway connecting two towers. the whole walk way is about 250 yards long with Helleman in the middle of this walkway. One end was sealed after after a 1 00 yards (metres), but the other way connected to another tower. Looking over the parapet you realise you are higher than you think, but it means you get good views over the Old Town. The other tower has two further floors so you can get even better views. Climb to the very top floor is short, narrow and steep

For me, this should be number 1 on the TA list for Tallinn. This is visually iconic and beautiful. I could not stop taking pictures of the towers. The best photos were from just outside the wall, on the grass, with the towers lined up in your field of view. Great for photographers.
Just wish I had time to walk the wall as well.
