St. Catherine's passage is narrow and filled with tour groups, but an area that should not be missed. You can see gravestones from the medieval period mounted on one of the walls. There are small cafes as well as local craft stores selling felted hats,...More

The long passage was the nave of the former church within the monastery, as you walk along the passage you can see the gravestones from the medieval period. Very fascinating. Some interesting craft shops along the way.

Although it is now lined with restaurants and cafes and shops and some street vendors, St. Catherine's passage gives you a sense of medieval Tallinn, with its narrow width, overhangs, displayed grave stones, and rough cobbled street. A delightful corner of Tallinn.

Yes, this is the location of the "Sweater Wall", but there are other interesting shops along the other side. Also, be sure to check out the old tombstones attached to the side of the St. Catherine Church.

This narrow medieval passageway is still a very busy throughfare and very highly trafficked by modern day tourists

Picturesque and relaxing alley. Rather narrow, certainly, but it is curious and there are several bars with tables outside, at least whether the weather is sunny, where one can make a calm break and drink a local beer.

We went through this passage on our way to the Lower Town and is the home of St. Catherine's Guild, a collection of craft studios. We went by the famous "wall of sweaters" where merchants sell hand made items for purchase.. very quaint!

Old walkway, with some craft shops, selling ceramics, leather, wooden items. There are some tombstones, very unusual passage, worth a walk.
