Stroll around this beautiful Renaissance campus and don't miss the book store with a ceiling that will remind you of the Sistine Chapel

The University is in the heart of the old town and has some attractive buildings. However, to appreciate its beauty, you need to go inside. The bookstore has beautiful murals on its walls and ceiling. Other buildings also have ornate walls and ceilings. You can...More

It is less common to visit a university. and the more you visit a church inside it. It has many courtyards, you can even admire a fresco covering the 2nd floor Auditorium in the building where students are studying. You will notice the Observatory building,...More

We toured the university but the stand out for us was the bookstore. Low vaulted ceilings and on every arch was a portrait of a professor, his discipline, and his dates as a Prof. Some of them went back to the 1600's and if the...More

Lovely place to wander around with some beautiful buildings, signage and doors. In the heart of old town so easy to include in your wanderings. Thanks for the vote if you found this review helpful.

It only costs a couple of euros to wander around the grounds of the University and they have 12 courtyards - from the very grand to fairly basic. You can also visit the Church - we didn't go inside the Church as graduations were taking...More

You pay for admission to the grounds; a nominal fee gets you a brochure of the architecture. Do not miss the bookstore with its stunning ceiling and wall murals as well as sculptures of famous people. If it were larger and a private bookstore, it...More

Students were not in evidence on the Saturday when we visited but presumably, going there on a term time weekday would add a buzzy dimension. Oldest and largest with twenty thousand students, of Lithuania’s ten universities, this place goes a long way to explaining why...More

Some of the courtyards weren’t anything special but the frescos were amazing and the view from the bell tower is the best in Vilnius.
