A nice sculpture in Klaipeda created in 2010. The figure comes from an old legend ( 16th century). A Klaipeda castle guard saw a ghost who warned him that the town does not have enough grain supplies, thanks to the warning the city survived a difficult period.

This haunting sculpture is a neat little aspect of the port area of Klaipeda. I remember the first time I saw it and I just had to get inside of it, which is tradition. You will feel the energy of the ghouls and ghosts and maybe you too will become a creature of the deep!

The sculpture itself looks supercool yet a bit creepy on evenings . I suggest you to find out the history of it ( you can get the information in Tourism center) . The story together with that sculpture gives that mysterious atmosphere to already mysterious Klaipeda.

Was told Alice Cooper popularized it and definitely worth taking a look while here as it is one of many sculptures you will find scattered around the city.

This sculpture, one of many in Klaipeda, is unexpected, crawling as it does out of the water and onto the quay. Well worth the time to go and see. If you arrive by ship, you will pass it on the way into town.

There are lots of sculptures to look out for when visiting Klaipeda, but the Black Ghost is one of the easiest to find, especially if you are on a cruise ship as he is next to the old swing bridge that you need to cross in order to reach the old city. The ghost is climbing up out of the water and is worth a quick photo.

There are lots of sculptures around Klaipeda, and this is probably the best known one. It is easy to find and worth taking the few minutes to go and see it.

If you visit the town on a cruise & walk from your ship to the town centre (all of 15 minutes) you will walk past this 'creature' though it is easy to miss. I loved it (and Klaipeda) it is just as spooky from the rear as it is from the front.

The Black Ghost is not far from the Old Mill Hotel.

I didn't know this sculpture is called a ghost. I thought it is a sinking fisherman or something like that :)
