Such a lovely way to descend or ascend the hill up to the Normafa Country side. Fantastic views. A gentle slope. A safe ride. Beautiful and highly recommended. Especially when combined with a hike/walk through to Erzsebet Tower and/or The Children's Railway. Cafe at the...More

The views you can see from the chair lift are amazing, we read about it being a must do when in Budapest and we are so glad we did it. Very reasonably priced! It’s a little out of the centre but easily accessible by tram...More

Extraordinary- the chairlift is a great way to descend from János-hegy, after visiting Elisabeth Lookout, with superb views all the way down to the bottom, skimming over woods and fields, and occasionally, upmarket dwellings. If you get the chance, try it.

Wheelchair access - NOT ADVISABLE Popular for the very young and old alike being the easiest way to ascend four-fifths of the climb to Elizabeth’s Lookout atop John’s Hill. There are quite naturally snack bars at both ends of the lift and a further one...More

We visited about 4pm on a Monday and didn't have to queue at all to come up or down so would recommend this time of day to avoid the crowds. A photo is taken on both ways up and down but is definitely worth getting,...More

Would definitely recommend as a must to do whilst in Budapest. The walk to the top of Elizabeth lookout is fantastic followed by the views from the chairlift down the hill. We didn’t have to queue at all, it was really quiet when we visited....More

The chairlift gives lovely views, especially on the way down where the city is spread out in front of you. As others have said, jump on the 291 bus (takes around 30 minutes) and get off at the last stop. The queues can be long,...More

This was definitely the highlight of our trip! It takes a bit of planning out how to get to it but it’s well worth it at the end. We took the children’s railway there and a fifteen minute walk further we were up in the...More

We took the Chairlift back down after having travelled up into the Buda Hills on the Cogwheel and Children’s Railways. Such a peaceful ride, skimming across tree tops, with lovely views across the city as we descended. Tickets were purchased from ticket machines at the...More

We used the chairlift to get down the hill after a visit to the Children's Railway, but you can use it to go up the hill as well. We visited on a busy day, and there was a horribly long queue to get on the...More

We travelled from the city centre on public buses. We got the number 16 bus to Szell Kalman Ter and then picked up the 155 to Bela Kiraly Ut. Then it's just a short walk up the hill - enjoy! :)
