The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.

Hungarian Heritage House, also known as Budai Vigado is a beautiful building on the Buda side close to the Chain Bridge.
There is also a tiny small square in front of it.

The Hungarian Heritage House in Budapest is run by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage in order to cultivate, preserve and promote Hungarian folk tradition. It offers resources in three areas:
-- Hungarian State Folk Ensemble is devoted to collecting and performing folk music and dance.
-- Lajtha László Folklore Documentation Center is a library (both online and hard copy) of folk art and traditions.
-- Applied Folk Arts Department organizes courses, conferences, dance houses and play-houses, and publishes folk music and dance media.
The building facing Corvin Ter. is a mix of neo-Classical and Baroque architecture, designed by Aladar Arkay and Mor Kallina, and constructed 1898-1900. The interior is richly decorated in art nouveau style with spacious exhibit halls, arcades, mosaic floors, wide marble staircase, and an ornamented lounge under a central skylight.
